We love it when flowers have gone over! We’re always looking for ways to add extra texture when styling our shoots, and that often means using dried or faded flowers from the garden.

Alliums and hydrangeas are our absolute favourites for this. Their delicate, skeletal structures add so much character and beauty to any space. It’s a great way to show the full lifecycle of a plant and bring a little bit of the garden indoors, no matter the season.

We loved transforming this Cotswold home for a young couple and their cute puppy, who wanted a calming, practical space to escape the demands of their working week.

Our challenge was to modernise their open-plan kitchen, dining, and sitting areas while respecting the home’s original features. This meant seamlessly matching the existing Cotswold stone floor to flow into the new kitchen, and integrating a beloved, old cream Aga that was staying put. The design also included a new bar area and wine storage, plus an improved staircase to the TV room.

Working with a budget, we sourced materials carefully and partnered with skilled local craftsmen to bring their vision to life. The result is a stunning, cohesive home that the owners are absolutely delighted with.

Renovating your home can be an exciting journey, but it’s often the small details that make the biggest impact.

In the featured project, we focused on creating an entrance that felt both elegant and inviting. To achieve this, we chose a remarkable colour for the walls: ‘Etruscan Brown’ by @edwardbulmerpaint

Edward Bulmer beautifully describes it:

“More red than brown, this colour relies on earth pigments and was thought to evoke the sort of colours used to decorate the walls of the palaces of Pompeii. It was the height of fashion in late 18th century London. Superb as a backdrop to prints and black frames!”

This stunning shade brings a warm, sophisticated depth to the space, with a softness and pinkish undertone that makes a lasting impression. It’s a perfect example of how a carefully chosen colour can define the character of a room.

We had the pleasure of helping a wonderful family from the USA relocate to the Cotswolds. The challenge? To transform an old stone cottage into a comfortable, functional family home, all while they were still thousands of miles away.

Our mission was to make the process as seamless as possible. We worked with careful builders to expose beautiful wood beams, clean lime-pointed stone walls, and add subtle lighting to highlight the home’s natural features.

We refurbished an annexe for a flexible home office or guest space and designed a full interior scheme that respected the local area’s natural colour palette.

Communication was key. We relied on regular Zoom calls and updates, managing the project on the ground so they didn’t have to. The best part? The family arrived in the UK and moved directly into their newly furnished, fully completed home.

Jane’s front door has been given a stunning new look with ‘Old Street’ by Coat Paints, and the results are gorgeous.

Jane chose this beautiful shade to reflect the faded pinks and reds throughout her garden, creating a harmonious and inviting entrance. She was really impressed with the paint itself, finding it “nice to use” with “good coverage” – always a bonus when tackling a painting project!

We absolutely love the depth of ‘Old Street’. It’s a colour that manages to be both strong and bold, yet incredibly warm and welcoming. It perfectly sets the tone for Jane’s lovely home in the Cotswolds.

When we first encountered this beautiful barn nestled at the foot of the picturesque Cotswold escarpment, it had a bland, developer-grade finish that lacked character. Our mission was to infuse warmth, comfort, and an inviting atmosphere throughout.

For the kitchen/dining area, we drew inspiration directly from the surrounding landscape, reflecting the natural colours and textures of the Cotswolds in our design.

We recently gave a lovely stone townhouse in a popular Cotswold market town a refresh. One of the most exciting discoveries was hidden right under our noses (or rather, under the carpet!). We were thrilled to find beautiful old pine floorboards on the ground floor. After some careful sanding and sealing, they came up absolutely beautifully, adding so much character and warmth to the space. This unexpected find resulted in a huge saving for our clients, allowing that valuable budget to be reallocated to other key areas of the renovation.

We loved working on this project, blending the traditional charm of the Cotswolds with contemporary living needs. The result is a more functional, brighter, and utterly charming space.

We had the pleasure of helping a wonderful family from the USA relocate to the Cotswolds. The challenge? To transform an old stone cottage into a comfortable, functional family home, all while they were still thousands of miles away.

Our mission was to make the process as seamless as possible. We worked with careful builders to expose beautiful wood beams, clean lime-pointed stone walls, and add subtle lighting to highlight the home’s natural features.

We refurbished an annexe for a flexible home office or guest space and designed a full interior scheme that respected the local area’s natural colour palette.

Communication was key. We relied on regular Zoom calls and updates, managing the project on the ground so they didn’t have to. The best part? The family arrived in the UK and moved directly into their newly furnished, fully completed home.

Since 2007, we’ve had the pleasure of helping homeowners navigate the exciting (and sometimes daunting!) journey of renovation. We know firsthand the unique charm and challenges that comes with updating houses in the Cotswolds.

If you’re considering a renovation and working with an interior designer here are some of our thoughts to ensure your renovation is a smooth and successful one.

🍃 Don’t make this common mistake and jump in without a master plan. It’s tempting to start with one room or aesthetic ideas, but without a clear vision and sequence, costs spiral and cohesion suffers. Solution? Work with an interior designer early on to map out the big picture—before a single wall comes down.

🍃 Be prepared to discover hidden gems and balance them with modern living. Beneath the layers of historical houses there’s often gorgeous stonework, original beams, or forgotten spaces. We love uncovering and restoring these, and pairing them with clever layouts, discreet tech, and practical finishes—so the charm stays, but life feels seamless.

🍃 Our final piece of advice for first-time renovators is to trust the process. A full renovation has highs and lows, but with clear communication, realistic timelines, and a strong design team, it becomes an exciting transformation—not just for your home, but for how you live in it. Expect more to be revealed as you proceed in terms of work required—be sure you have some extra money available!

The small nook with a desk and shelves painted in the same calming colour creates a cohesive feel. The skylight overhead bathes the space in natural light, making it feel open and bright. We’re so pleased with how this compact yet perfect workspace turned out!

Jane’s front door has been given a stunning new look with ‘Old Street’ by Coat Paints, and the results are gorgeous.

Jane chose this beautiful shade to reflect the faded pinks and reds throughout her garden, creating a harmonious and inviting entrance. She was really impressed with the paint itself, finding it “nice to use” with “good coverage” – always a bonus when tackling a painting project!

We absolutely love the depth of ‘Old Street’. It’s a colour that manages to be both strong and bold, yet incredibly warm and welcoming. It perfectly sets the tone for Jane’s lovely home in the Cotswolds.

Here’s a glimpse inside our newly converted, three-storey stone barn project. When we first encountered this beautiful barn nestled at the foot of the picturesque Cotswold escarpment, it had a bland, developer-grade finish that lacked character. Our mission was to infuse warmth, comfort, and an inviting atmosphere throughout.

For the kitchen/dining area, we drew inspiration directly from the surrounding landscape, reflecting the natural colours and textures of the Cotswolds in our design.

We recently gave a lovely stone townhouse in a popular Cotswold market town a refresh. One of the most exciting discoveries was hidden right under our noses (or rather, under the carpet!). We were thrilled to find beautiful old pine floorboards on the ground floor. After some careful sanding and sealing, they came up absolutely beautifully, adding so much character and warmth to the space. This unexpected find resulted in a huge saving for our clients, allowing that valuable budget to be reallocated to other key areas of the renovation.

We loved working on this project, blending the traditional charm of the Cotswolds with contemporary living needs. The result is a more functional, brighter, and utterly charming space.
