15 Feb CASE STUDY: The Angel Restaurant & Bar, Burford
Terrence and Gemma, took over the running of the Angel in Burford four years ago and have made significant improvements to the fabric of the building including a new kitchen.
In November last year we helped this busy couple visualise their dream for the interiors. Their brief was simple to get more seating in a relatively small space with comfort in mind and to create a better ambiance.
We helped plan a better layout of tables and chairs , sourced furniture and hand made settles from a local tradesman.
Improved the lighting and specified paints that would update and give a cosy feel to the pub.
Before and after…
The pub was closed for four working days as they didn’t want to miss the weekend trade. so with careful planning and cooperative and hard working trades the pub was transformed.
On the Friday morning as their deliveries were being made for the kitchen and the bar, the drivers looked vaguely amused when told that the pub would be open at 6 pm. The staff rolled up their sleeves and scrubbed and polished as the builders and painters retreated , and the furniture and soft furnishings were put in place. As the first customers arrived the change was obvious. Terrence and Gemma now have a new look pub with comfortable dining and good ambiance. They have been a pleasure to work with and they tell us their business is thriving.
